I am still trying to figure out what this bird is. The cliff swallow is supposed to have a white patch over the beak, but it is clearly brown in these images. Cave swallows have brown patches, but they don't nest or migrate anywhere near this area (most are in Texas, though there is a very small colony near Miami, FL). Perhaps this is a juvenile cliff swallow, or perhaps he just needs a bath. |
