After The Dead got thru with their set, The Band came on and it started to rain. That cleared the crowds out a bit and alowed us to move closer. By the time The Allman Brothers came on, we were about 100 feet from the stage. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos taken after the rain started... I'm not sure why, but I probably took my camera back to the car to keep it from getting soaked. Around 2AM, the Allman Brothers wrapped up their set and were joined on stage by the Dead and The Band for a one hour jam.

All in all, it was a great time. The Dead, The Band, and The Allman Brothers had played for five, four, and three hours respectively. I came home with ringing ears, a bad sunburn and the obligatory T-Shirt. I tried for years to find recordings of the concert, but it wasn't until the '80's that they started to turn up. Most memorable song for me was the Allman Brothers' "Jessica," a great intrumental that had a lot of stylistic similarities to one of my favorite tunes, "Blue Sky." This was about a month before the track was released on "Brothers and Sisters" so we were all hearing it for the first time and it really made an impression... you could hear people whistling it on the way back to their cars.
