Keith Murray is a good friend of the family, a transplanted New Yorker like myself who lived in Columbus for a while. When he came back for a visit we decided to check out the Phenix City, AL side of the Chattohoochee River. The city built a nice Riverwalk there (between the Dillingham and 14th St bridges) that is a great spot for taking photos. There's a large dam near 13th Street where a small spillway on one side diverts water to a picturesque rocky area which has become a favorite hangout for water birds.
